OpenProvider AAA system vs Legacy AAA solutions – Key Product Benefits

Legacy core network solutions such as AAA system are increasingly replaced with modern platforms that offer convergence, efficiency and redundancy. Here is why OpenProvider AAA should be your next choice.

When comparing OpenProvider as a professional solution to a legacy AAA solution, there are several benefits that OpenProvider offers. The key advantages can be summarised as:

Enhanced Performance

OpenProvider is built with modern technology and best practices, resulting in better performance. It is optimized for speed and efficiency, which can significantly improve system responsiveness and user experience.

Scalability

OpenProvider is designed to grow with customer needs. It provides scalability options, making it easier to accommodate increasing data loads, user traffic, or functionality requirements without major disruptions or overhauls. More concretely, Policing, LDAP and APPS VNFC are completely stateless and thus scalable without any specific requirement. SSDB is stateless but Cassandra cluster is design to scale easily.

Geo-Redundancy and High Availability

HA design of OpenProvider deployment includes at least two geo-redundant sites that will be running in load-sharing mode. Logate recommend to all clients to implement OpenProvider system in at least two Data Centers (DC). Our system can be implemented in more than two Data Centers (three or more DCs). Beside geo-redundant deployment, each site includes local redundancy. Local redundancy is provided with HA configuration of OpenProvider site deployment.

Security

OpenProvider prioritizes security with robust built-in features and ongoing updates. Logate has dedicated teams working on identifying and patching vulnerabilities, reducing the risk of data breaches and cyberattacks.

Compatibility

Legacy systems may struggle with compatibility issues, especially as technology evolves. OpenProvider is more likely to integrate seamlessly with other software and services, reducing the need for custom workarounds and ensuring a smoother workflow.

User-Friendly Interface

OpenProvider has web interface where the majority of configuration is done. Most imporantly, through  web interface it is possible to create policy logic for all services that Telcos offer to end users. We have our own Service Management Engine and all details about it can be found in the special SME blog post

Regular Updates and Maintenance

With subscription fee Logate provides regular updates and maintenance, ensuring that the system stays current with industry standards and user expectations. This reduces the risk of obsolescence and extends the software’s lifespan.

Support and Documentation

Beside subscription, appropriate Service Level Agreement (SLA) brings comprehensive documentation and dedicated customer support. This means you can easily find resources to troubleshoot issues and get assistance when needed.

Cost Efficiency

While the initial cost of OpenProvider may be higher than sticking with a legacy system, it will be more cost-effective in the long run. This is because our solutions offer possibility to converge multiple AAA solutions into one which lowers ongoing maintenance costs. Also in terms of subscription, client has lower costs because they pay subscription only for one platform instead of multiple ones.

Adaptability

OpenProvider is designed to adapt to changing business needs and evolving technologies. It is very flexible, allowing you to add new features, integrate with third-party tools, and pivot as your customer base grows and evolves.

Compliance and Regulation

Many industries have specific compliance and regulatory requirements. OpenProvider offers built-in compliance features and support to help you meet these standards without extensive customization.

Analytics and Reporting

Our solution offers a lot of analytics and reporting capabilities, providing valuable insights into your data and helping you make informed decisions to improve your business processes.

In summary, OpenProvider offers a range of benefits over legacy systems, including improved performance, security, scalability, and adaptability. It is designed to meet the demands of modern businesses and technology landscapes, ultimately leading to better efficiency, productivity, and long-term cost savings.
